On Striving

What’s a life well-lived if we are not striving for self-mastery, for character development and for alignment with higher ideals? Aren’t these the cravings that make us distinctly human? Is this craving not the sprouting place of all that makes life meaningful?

They say that to make a creature look human, animators have it staring off into nature contemplating its existence.

Makarim is the proud embrace of this existential craving for more – higher and better.

We believe in edification and we believe in starting young.

We are a brother and sister duo – immigrants, the eldest of ten, very Muslim and very proud. And we, like so many others, want more out of life. We believe in deeper living. We believe in striving for more – for better – for higher in this life and the next.
